Changing Lives by Inspiring Individuals to Reach Their Potential
Helping individuals and families in Florida get the mental health care, addiction treatment, and support they need. From virtual therapy sessions to residential programs and prevention and housing services, we meet you where you are.
About Us
One Mission. Countless Lives Changed.
Since 1994, IMPOWER has provided critical support for children and families across Florida. We began with a simple goal: ensure everyone has access to the care they need to thrive. As Florida’s first nonprofit to offer behavioral health telehealth, we broke barriers for families with limited access to behavioral health care. Today, we support over 9,000 people annually through virtual counseling, residential care, school-based prevention programs and youth housing services.
- Fully accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA)
- Florida's first non-profit telehealth behavioral health provider
- 9,000+ individuals served annually across Florida
- Partnerships with schools, courts, and community organizations

Our Residential Programs
The Grove: Where Teens Find Their Way Back
A 90-day residential program for adolescents ages 13-18 struggling with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
Teenage addiction rarely exists alone. The Grove addresses substance use alongside depression, trauma, and family conflict through therapy, psychiatric care, and experiential activities. School continues on campus so residents stay on track academically.
Note: Medical detox is not provided on-site. We’ll connect you with medical partners if your teen needs detox before admission.
The Village: Building Futures One Young Adult At A Time
Transitional housing for homeless and former foster youth ages 18-24.
The Village provides dorm-style housing where young adults work or attend school while learning life skills like budgeting, cooking, and apartment searching. Staff and volunteers help residents transition to independence with education support, job training, and access to mental health services.
88% of residents transition to permanent housing. 100% enroll in school or training programs.
Who Walks Through Our Doors
IMPOWER serves everyone from six-year-olds struggling with anxiety to young adults up to age 24, including those who have aged out of foster care. Parents call us when their teenager won’t stop using. Schools refer students who are falling behind because of behavioral issues. Courts send teens who need treatment instead of punishment. Former foster youth find us when they have nowhere else to go. Some people come to us in crisis. Others come before things fall apart. All of them leave with tools they didn’t have before and the knowledge that someone believed they could change.

FAQ's
Can't find what you're looking for?
Do you take my insurance?
We accept most commercial insurance plans, Medicaid, Tricare, and Medicare. If you’re not sure about your coverage, call us at (407) 215-0095 and we’ll verify your benefits before your first appointment.
How quickly can I get an appointment?
For mental health counseling and substance use outpatient services, we typically schedule within a few days. Residential programs like The Grove require an assessment first, but we move as quickly as possible when a teen needs help.
Is everything really virtual, or do you have in-person options?
Most of our mental health and substance use counseling happens through telehealth, which means you can meet with your therapist from home. The Grove (residential treatment) and The Village (transitional housing) are both in-person programs where clients live on-site. Behavioral health assessments can be done in-person or via telehealth depending on the county.
What if I can't afford treatment?
We offer sliding-scale fees based on your household income. As a non-profit, our goal is to make sure cost doesn’t keep someone from getting help. Talk to our intake team about payment options that work for your family.
What ages do you serve?
Mental health counseling and substance use outpatient services are available for children (ages 6+), teens, and adults. The Grove serves teens ages 13-18. The Village and homelessness prevention services are for young adults ages 18-24.
