Supporting Young Adults in Building Recovery and Stability

IMPOWER’s Contingency Management (CM) Program is an evidence-based approach designed to support young adults (ages 18–29) who are struggling with opioid and stimulant use disorders. This innovative program combines therapy, coaching, and positive reinforcement to help participants build healthier behaviors and achieve long-term recovery.

How the Program Works

Participants engage in a structured 20-week program, including assessment, followed by six months of continued supportive services to reinforce progress and maintain stability. Each week, participants complete:

  • One individual therapy session (virtual)
  • One coaching session with a case manager (virtual)
  • One in-person drug screening

Participants may earn incentives for meeting goals, including:

  • Participating in therapy sessions
  • Participating in case management/coaching sessions AND
  • Providing stimulant-negative drug screens

Incentives increase over time with continued progress, reinforcing positive behavior and encouraging long-term success.

This combination ensures participants receive both immediate reinforcement and long-term tools for success.
