A Second Chance for a Brighter Future

IMPOWER partners with the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit to deliver Juvenile Drug Court Program services in Seminole County providing youth with a constructive alternative to traditional delinquency proceedings.
This diversion program brings together the judiciary, criminal justice system, substance use treatment providers, and the community to:
  • Reduce substance use among nonviolent offenders
  • Support rehabilitation and positive lifestyle changes
  • Lower the long-term cost and impact on society
Referrals to Juvenile Drug Court must be made directly by the State Attorney’s Office.

How the Program Works

Once referred, IMPOWER serving as the contracted treatment provider intervenes to offer targeted services aimed at helping youth:
  • Transition to a healthier, substance-free lifestyle
  • Strengthen family and community connections
  • Avoid re-entering the justice system
The program is offered at no cost to the individual or their family.

Program Structure & Phases

All participants complete substance abuse treatment through the following phases.
The length of each phase depends on individual progress.

Phase 1

  • Individual, group, and family therapy
  • Law Awareness & Decision-making classes
  • Individualized treatment plans
  • Random urinalysis testing

Phase 2

  • Individual, group, and family therapy
  • Parent support group
  • Mindfulness practice and written assignments
  • Weekly random urinalysis testing

Phase 3

  • Individual, group, and family therapy
  • Parent support group
  • Mindfulness practice and written assignments
  • Weekly random urinalysis testing

Phase 4 (approx. 30 days)

  • Individual, peer led group, and family therapy
  • Completion of evidence based programming
  • Fulfillment of individualized treatment plan
  • Individual counseling as needed
  • Random urinalysis testing
